I had a fantastic client meeting today.
The Operations Manager for this small Pub company talked about their values, culture, vision and beliefs so passionately I almost wanted to get back into operations (almost!)
They stand for everything that is right within hospitality and judging by the Pub I met her in they are delivering it also. The service was excellent. I never wanted for, or asked for anything, it was almost Jedi like. The food was outstanding and the atmosphere spot on. The music was right, the lighting all worked (big deal for me), the temperature was perfect for a cold day, the toilets were clean and all this on a mid March lunch.
It was busy but the team never looked stretched. Its clear they are not cutting back on labour and they are not part of the voucher culture. The team had time to provide a great service whilst the General Manager was able to manage and control; the shift.
